But the truth is social media can be ditched altogether, and you can still grow a massively successful business.
In fact, you might actually grow FASTER without social media.
Can you have a successful business without social media?
You can absolutely grow a successful network marketing business without social media.
This is exactly how I've built my network marketing businesses where I've been able to build a team that has enrolled over 10,000 members.
There are plenty of others having success without social media, so don't think you have to be posting endlessly on these platforms to grow your business.
Why People Say You Have To Use Social Media When You Don't
So if you don't need social media, why do so many trainers say that you need to be on all of these different platforms to have success?
Well, this is because they think social media is where the people are, so that's where you need to be too.
However, social media isn't the ONLY place where people congregate online. There are other "markets" that you can tap into, and I'll share with you what these are in a second...
But first, did you know that trying to grow on social media can actually harm your business?
Why Social Media Can Harm Your Business
There are two main strategies that other network marketing trainers teach when it comes to building your business on social media.
1. Prospecting
The prospecting strategy involves messaging strangers on social media and asking them something along the lines of...
Would you be open to making a little extra money if it didn't interfere with what you were currently doing?
The problem with prospecting is that it drives people crazy and they hate receiving messages from strangers like this. It's partially what gives network marketing a bad name.
Additionally, social media platforms have been cracking down on people who send messages like this for a while now, and are showing no signs of stopping.
This means messaging people like this can get your account locked or even shut down. Not a good thing.
2. Attraction Marketing
The other option is "attraction marketing" where you post curiosity posts, videos, or other content with the hopes of attracting your ideal customers/team members to you.
For example, if you have a health and wellness product, you might share health tips and attract people who are interested in learning about getting healthy.
By doing this, you build up an audience of people who are also likely to be interested in your network marketing company's products.
I actually have nothing against attraction marketing as a strategy, and use it myself...
The problem arises when you try to apply attraction marketing on social media.
This is because social media platforms are now "pay-to-play" which means no one will see your posts (and therefore no one will be attracted to you) unless you dump money into ads.
Or put another way, you make money for these social media platforms by creating valuable content for them, and then THEY charge YOU in order for you to reach your own followers.
Not only that, but the content you post on these platforms are transitory, and is only relevant for a day at best before it's lost forever, buried in the abyss at the bottom of the feed.
However, if you are adding your content to search engines instead of social media platforms, your content can live for years and drive you traffic, leads, and sales for years down the road.
You put in work ONCE that pays you off indefinitely.
How To Build A Successful MLM Without Social Media
Okay, so if you aren't going to use social media, how are you going to grow your network marketing business?
Well, there are really three simple steps you need to follow that will allow you to grow your business fast, and without the headache of social media or bugging friends and family.
- You need to get traffic (eyeballs on your product)
- You need to turn that traffic into "leads" (get the email addresses of people so you can continually follow-up with them)
- You need to a proven and automatic system for making offers to your leads so they turn into customers and team members
1. Create A Traffic Generation System
First you need a way system that is constantly exposing new people to your product or opportunity.
Social media is supposed to do this, since (in theory) you post something on social media and then new people find it and then follow you.
The only problem is new people aren't finding your content on social media. Or if you are getting new people find you, the stream of new people coming into your network is merely a trickle, or you're spending a lot of money on ads to get them.
This isn't ideal.
What if I told you there was a way to get thousands of people to learn about you and your product in just a week...
And not only that, but learn about you from someone they know, like, and trust?
This is entirely possible, and it's the method I used to build a team that has enrolled over 10,000 members.
I call this strategy "Stealth Marketing" or some may call it "influencer marketing".
This is the strategy of having an influencer recommend your product for you to their audience of loyal fans.
I call this strategy "stealth marketing" because often times I'm able to generate tons of leads and sales without anyone even knowing what I am doing, let alone that I'm in a network marketing company.
The key is to find the right influencer who already has a following of people who are likely to love your products as well...
And then you send them a free sample of your product to review on their main platforms for their audience to see.
This might sound difficult or complex, but it's actually pretty simple to pull-off if done the right way. You don't have to have a big audience yourself to collaborate with influencers the right way.

I've been getting influencers like bloggers and YouTubers to recommend my products for me to their audiences since I started in network marketing back in 2010, even when I didn't have any network or followers to speak of.

2. Create A Lead Generation System
But just getting people to hear about you and your products isn't enough. You need to get them on your email list so that you can follow-up with them, build a relationship with them, and convert your leads into customers...
And even team members.
The good news is you can quickly generate hundreds of high quality leads at a time by working with these influencers in a specific way.
This specific tactic involves having your influencer run a giveaway in addition to their review.
With this giveaway, their audience can give you their email addresses in exchange for a chance to win the same sample that you sent to the influencer.
This way, you can get hundreds of new leads at a time from people who are actually interested in your product.
3. Create An Automatic Sales Generation System
Once you have all of these leads on your email list, you can set up an automated email sequence that will convert your leads into buyers.
This way, you can start bringing in passive sales weeks, months, or even years down the road from the people who joined your email list from one review and giveaway with an influencer.
The more influencers you collaborate with, the more leads you'll generate, and the more sales you'll get, and you can start to generate a snowball effect of sales flowing in.
The best part is you don't have to indefinitely reach to influencers. Once you've found the few that you really like and who really generate you amazing results, you can just continue to run reviews and giveaways (or get shout-outs) with this network of influencers whom you've established relationships with.
Not only that, but with all of the leads you're generating, you can even start to become an influencer yourself.
And when that happens, you can start to generate traffic, leads, and sales all on your own from your own influence.
Now doesn't this sound better than posting endlessly on social media and seeing very little (if any) results?

Where do I find these influencers? And why would any of them ever want to work with me when I don't have many followers myself?
The good news is that there hundreds and thousands of these influencers all over the internet, many of whom would LOVE to work with you for a small fee, or even for FREE!
Just receiving a free product to review means a ton to these influencers, as giveaways help THEIR audience grow as well.
Many of the best influencers to work with aren't the ones with a GIANT following.
"Micro-influencers" are often the best ones to work with because:
- They are more likely to say "yes!" to working with you
- They are more likely to be very enthusiastic with their review (leading to more sales and leads)
- They likely have a more loyal audience (ready to take action on their recommendations)
