Plus, Live videos are practically irresistible to your audience as they’re scrolling through their News Feed.

However, it can feel intimidating to push the “Go Live” button.

Believe me, I know!

I NEVER would have I thought that I, a total introvert, would ever do Facebook Live…

And yet, I was able to do a Facebook Live nearly every day for over a year. 

When my mentors told me to start teaching with Facebook Live, I had a LOT of nervous energy and hesitation.

But once I started, it quickly became a habit and no big deal.

So don’t be shy, get out there and teach what you’re learning, as you’re learning.

The longer you wait and put it off, the harder it gets.

You don’t need to be an expert to get started!

Okay, let’s break it down.

Here’s a really simple five-step formula for shooting a Facebook Live videos…

1. Introduce Yourself

I don’t need to explain this step, but I will say this…

As I mentioned, I initially had a ton of fear around doing Facebook Lives.

In fact, it paralyzed me to even think about it.

I’m an introvert, not a good speaker, didn’t think anyone would want to watch or listen to someone like me, and was worried that I couldn’t consistently go live at a set time.

Oh, and did I mention that I hated to sound of my voice?

I was really chugging that excuse Kool-aid: “Excuse-aid”.

Here’s the thing…

People don’t care about the way you look or what’s happening around you.

All they really care about is the value of the content that you’re sharing with them.

So I had to get out of my own way and realize it wasn’t about me.

It’s about the people I am impacting.

You have a voice, and I’m sure you have something that you want to share with your audience.

At the end of the day, you must get out of your own way and JUST DO IT!

So go out there and start going live. Begin simply by introducing yourself.

“Hi, I’m [insert your name here].”

2. Engage

This step is easy, yet really important…

Always be sure to ask a question…

“Hey, where are you watching in from? Let me know. Drop a comment below.”

You want to engage with your audience and ask them if they have any questions throughout the segment.

You’ll be looking at their questions and addressing them later on.

Don’t neglect your viewers!

3. Deliver Your Content

This step is whatever you intend to talk about!

For example, I teach on how to build a family home business and network marketing/direct sales.

So once, we broadcasted a Facebook Live on our Fan Page entitled…

“Are You Alienating 90% of Your Potential Customers Without Even Realizing it?”

Keep in mind, you have to know your audience and you have to know your voice.

For this video, we simply taught what we had learned from another leader (and credited him in the video).

Another thing we commonly do is simply take an article, read it, and re-purposed the content.

Did you catch that? Is the light bulb starting to turn on yet?

This concept of learning, and then reteaching in your own words, was a breath-through for me, and I think it can be for you too.

All you do is take bits and pieces of whatever content or tips are in an article (or video, or webinar, or podcast, or whatever you have) and put them in your voice.

You get bonus points if you can add in some personal anecdotes, so add those in where applicable.

You NEVER want to plagiarize!

In the video, you may want to vaguely mention that you are involved with something that could help (make this related to your company’s products or services, of course).

Don’t say specifically what it is, though, because you want to create curiosity.

You could say something along the lines of…

“If you have a question wrapped around tip number five, drop me a comment or private message me.”

If done well, afterward, you will receive a lot of messages from people asking about what you alluded to in tip #5.

People want to know how they can have the same great results you are having!

This is just an example, but this is the “meat” of your training: the content delivery.

4. Engage Again!

Now it’s time to engage again…

Ask your audience…

  • What was your biggest takeaway?
  • Do you have any questions?
  • Who has a fear around doing a Facebook Live?
  • Is there something you want to learn next time? 

Did you audience ask questions while you were delivering your content?

Then use their name and answer their question.

5. Call To Action

Always, always, always close with a call to action.

Always, always, always close your Facebook Lives with a call to action.

Your call to action can be as simple as…

“Hey, if you want to learn more about what I’m talking about here or in regards to the products that I use, just message me.”

Or, it can be more complex, such as…

Click the link below to head over to my site.
